Rachel, a prominent national journalist with an interest in Arctic-related topics, works alongside the Foundation as an Observer-in-Residence. Her role enhances her capacity to be aware of emerging and evolving stories in the region and potential sources of intelligence for those stories.
The benefit to the Foundation of Rachel’s journalistic expertise is that important Arctic stories, indirectly or directly relating to the Foundation’s concern for Arctic Ocean biodiversity, are more likely to be told.
In parallel with her work as a theatre critic for The Times over 20 years, Rachel has interviewed international figures including Gorbachev, Yoko Ono and Kissinger for publications such as The Times, Financial Times, New Statesman, Spectator, Evening and The Independent, and covered wide-ranging topics from Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, Emmanual Macron’s use of big data, and the perils for Christianity in the Middle East.
